PDF Preview

Compare the free measurement summary with bilingual A4 and US Letter pattern PDFs, then print and assemble at actual size.

HTML preview and full pattern PDF

Calculation and the HTML preview in the calculator are free without signing in. Choose View measurement summary to open a summary in a new window. It includes measurements, color, drafting notes, and cutting guidance in the page language.

You can print that HTML page or save it as PDF from your browser. It is a summary, not the full actual-size pattern: it does not provide the tiled paper template or print calibration needed for cutting.

Download the full pattern PDF

  1. Sign in with a free account and save the draft as a project.
  2. Open the saved project page. Save any changed measurements before generating its PDF.
  3. Choose Download full-scale pattern, select A4 or US Letter and English or 中文, then choose Generate PDF. The complete PDF is free; a paid plan is not required. A download link remains available if your browser blocks the new window.

The PDF includes an overview, a test square, a page assembly map, and actual-size tiles for one 90-degree paper template. Use that template for the stated number of fabric panels; the file does not print a giant complete circle.

If the project has a saved waistband, new files append a materials and cut-dimensions summary after the sewing notes. It is not a full-size waistband pattern. The skirt fabric estimate excludes waistband pieces, closures, shrinkage and pattern matching; confirm these separately. Existing downloads keep their original contents.

On first use, print only page 3 to calibrate, then read the assembly guide on page 5. Its shaded diagram follows your actual measurements and paper size, lists the PDF page numbers, and identifies pages that can be skipped. Reuse the assembled paper template for the stated fabric cutting count; do not print that many sets of paper.

Print at 100% / actual size on the paper size selected for the PDF, with fit-to-page disabled. Measure the test square first: it is 2 cm for a centimeter draft or 1 inch for an inch draft. If it measures incorrectly, correct the printer settings before printing all tiles.

Changing the paper size or language generates a new file. An existing download continues to return its original file; it does not recalculate an older project.

Align the tiled pages

Match page labels to the assembly map and align the tile marks. Tape the pages together before cutting out the paper template. Check that the waist and hem arcs remain continuous across page joins. The PDF pattern checklist covers the checks before fabric cutting.

Trim outside the frames at joins and match the frame edges, rather than lining up whole sheets. Use the assembly map's tile labels and PDF page numbers to check neighboring pages. The grid frames are paper assembly boundaries, not fabric cutting lines.

Decide whether a blank-looking page is needed

Some pages look blank because they cover the template interior or a straight seam line coincides with the frame. Keep pages marked for retention so the paper template keeps its shape. Only positions explicitly marked outside the template may be left empty. Each tile has a status and a small location map outside the full-scale pattern frame; check those against the assembly guide on page 5 before skipping a page.

If the assembled arcs do not meet, check print calibration before changing the skirt measurements. For a size or assembly problem that persists, use the printing checks in Troubleshooting.

Read the printed lines before cutting

After taping, add waist and joining seam allowances, extending the paper if needed, then cut out the final paper outline.

  • The inner waist curve is the waist seam line. Add the allowance for your waistband or waist finish toward the center of the curve.
  • The straight joining edges are seam lines. Add the selected joining allowance outside those edges; the estimate reserves space for it, but the PDF does not draw it.
  • The outer curved edge already includes the hem allowance entered in the calculator. Do not add that same allowance again.

Use the edge-by-edge seam allowance guide for a different waist finish or zipper seam, and check the Fabric Guide before placing the template on cloth.

If the preview is blank

Make sure the calculator inputs are valid before opening the HTML preview. Invalid or highlighted measurements can prevent it from being built.

If a popup blocker stops the new window, allow popups for circleskirtcalc.com and try again.

If full PDF generation is unavailable, confirm the project and its latest edits are saved. See Troubleshooting for preview, saving, and printing problems.
